Frequently Asked Q's

What do I do with the kids when it rains?
Do I need a salt water fishing license to fish on shore?  Yes, but there is no cost for the license as the State has set up its own registry to help survey the waterways of Maine (and thus avoid federal regulation).  Click here for detailed info: Saltwater Recreation License?

Can your campground host my group?

The campground can accommodate groups of up to 50 RVs or tents.   This can be the perfect location for your company weekends, outdoor classroom activities, and youth group outings.  Group packages include recreation hall facilities, art studio, facilitated activities, and kayak trip/nature tours on nearby Sears Island. With advanced planning, we will accommodate group requests for lobsterbakes, barbecues, and lunchbox cruises on Penobscot Bay.  Feeling romantic?  We offer special packages for artist retreats, weddings, honey-moon vacations, and family reunions.

Do you welcome tent camping?

We have a unique, separate walk-in tenting area on the ocean for those who want to get away from cars, headlights and noise.  Want to car camp?  We have those sites too...convenient on site parking...sites with water and electricity or not...you choose.  Every site is complete with a fireplace and picnic table. All sites are only minutes from the beach.

We've never been to Maine before, what will we do when we get there?

We specialize in unique vacations.  We will personalize your travel itinerary and lend you books on Mid-Coast Maine.  Each day, come to the office and tell us what you're in the mood for and we'll help you plan the route, the restaurants or picnic areas and add a few extra details you may have overlooked.  Fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, antiquing or lounging?  Just ask our knowledgeable staff.

What about my kids?

There are dirt roads and paths for your children to ride their bikes, climb in our playground, play in our all-ages rec. hall, enjoy an arcade game or to search the beaches for sea shells.  Each day we plan an activity for the whole family to enjoy.  Sometimes it's a craft, sometimes a hike and sometimes movie or game.

Will I be connected?

There's wireless internet in the rec hall, bathhouse and to most campsites.  Our cell phones are Verizon wireless and they work anywhere in the park.  Need a cable for work, there's an ethernet cable and hardwired computer available in the rec hall.

Can I cancel my reservation anytime if then weatherman is worried about the weather?

Cancellations made at least fourteen days prior to the scheduled arrival date will be refunded, less a one-night penalty. Cancellations made fewer than fourteen days in advance are non-refundable but may be re-scheduled when possible. SINGLE NIGHT RESERVATIONS ARE TOTALLY NON-REFUNDABLE. We are sorry, but we are not able to offer refunds in the event of illness, emergency, inclement weather or other circumstances that are beyond our control.

Reservations are suggested and may be made using Mastercard or Visa cards or personal checks. A deposit is required to reserve a site. If a check is used, the site will not be secured until the deposit has been received. For stays of 1 week or more a deposit of $100 is required, $200 for a Gold/ Platnum Site For stays over holiday weekends, all site fees must be paid at the time of reservation and are non-refundable. For all other stays, a deposit of 50% of site fees is required. The balance of site fees is due upon registration. During July and August, there is a 7-night minimum on gold RV site reservations and a 5-night minimum on gold tent sites; otherwise a 3-night minimum applies on gold sites during the off-peak season.
