Maine's ocean campground

Campground Newsletter and Rules

Taste old-time Maine...Lobsterbakes at Searsport Shores. How do we do it? Early in the afternoon we build a fire to provide a hot bed of coals. Then we pull on rubber boots and gather fresh seaweed while it's still full of salt water. About 45 minutes before dinner, we pile the seaweed onto steel plates and add buckets of steamers & mussels, local lobsters, fresh corn on the cob, and mixed bags of sweet onions and potatoes. Finish the meal off peach/blueberry Dutch Cobbler and coffee. You have just enjoyed a real Maine Lobsterbake. Because it's all fresh- you MUST order in advance

Searsport Shores Answer Your Vacation Needs!

Who should come to Searsport Shores? Friends who tour MID COAST Maine find us a perfect home base. From Searsport your family will hike mountains, fish from the beach, wander remote beaches, explore forts, lobster villages and lighthouses, kayak the coast and sail to pristine islands.

What will you find? Warm, friendly people. Festivals and fairs, music, museums, flea markets, lobsterbakes and more. At Searsport Shores you can rent a hammock for your site, relax by the fire in our oak-paneled recreation hall, walk the nature trails or enjoy a lecture on Maritime History, Astronomy, Ocean Biology or Crafts. Every Saturday night in July and August drench your lobster in butter at our renowned beachfront lobster bakes.

Where will your site be? At Searsport Shores your site will be steps from the ocean. Choose between the shade of mature pine trees or sunny sites. Be close to the nautical playground or overlooking nothing but the bay.

When can I come? Searsport Shores is open May 15th to October 15th . Our Solitude Season is May-June and September 15th - October. Come then if you want to experience the quiet coast available to a privileged few. Enjoy a campfire, potluck supper and 24 hours of relaxation. Come in July and August for festivities, lobsterbakes, children's activities and excitement. At Searsport Shores we take reservations year round.

How do I get there? Take Route 95 North to Augusta. Take Route 3 West to Belfast. Travel Route 1 North 5 miles to Searsport. We're only about 3 1/2 hours from Boston. Just 45 Minutes from Augusta or Bangor.
