"This mid-coastal Maine campground, boasting 1,200 feet of scenic ocean shoreline, is one of the top in New England. The views of rocky coastline, picturesque coves, Sears Island (the largest uninhabited, undeveloped island in the state) and open ocean are spectacular. Campers have a long stretch of private beaches to enjoy, ranging from rocky tide-pools to water smoothed pebbles to soft sand.
Keep meandering and you’ll run into Moose Point State Park, just down the coast, within walking distance from the campground.
The grounds include ocean viewing decks and sitting areas, arbors and trellis, and artistic wood carvings. Facilities are top-notch, including new rest rooms and showers, a large rec hall with a library lending area, an array of musical instruments, and an indoor play area for young children.
There are hiking and biking trails, kayak and canoe rentals, and a list of planned activities, including old-fashioned lobster bakes on the beach, guided nature walks, children’s programs, and more. Sites are spacious and include a separate, large adult only tenting area overlooking the ocean, affectionately dubbed the "honeymoon suite."
